What Is SureStep Non-Slip?
- A non-etching, long-lasting chemical treatment which creates an invisible, sophisticated tread design into the surface of hard mineral floors.
- Dramatically increases the coefficient of friction when subjected to water or any type of liquid.
- A marble tile was used to evaluate the SureStep safety floor treatment by independent Rimkus Lab report. Half the tile was treated while the other half was left untreated. To the naked eye, the treated side could not be identified — the gloss and coloration did not appear to be affected.

About Us
Our founder is a business owner who dealt with slip and fall claims firsthand — and never had anyone approach him with a real solution. When he discovered the SureStep treatment and saw how well it actually worked, he immediately recognized something other business owners would want to know about, especially in rainy South Florida.
He knew other businesses would welcome the chance to finally get rid of all those "Slippery When Wet" signs that plagued their otherwise beautiful lobbies, showrooms, and pool decks. Here was a credible solution — one that major hotel and restaurant chains nationwide had already used and praised. So he launched Safe Steps.
Safe Steps provides a service that almost entirely eliminates the chance of a legitimate slip and fall — creating a safer environment for employees and visitors alike, and going a long way toward reducing a business's exposure to property liability claims.
"All Your Steps Should Be SAFE STEPS"
Independent Laboratory Tests Prove Superior Performance
SSI, NY conducted testing at the RSI Tribological Lab, TX, according to The American National Standard Institute (ANSI) A326.3, "Test Method for Measuring Dynamic Coefficient Of Friction (DCOF) of Hard Surface Floor Materials." The above charts represent the average result of thirty-six (36) dynamic measurements that were taken on each of the porcelain and ceramic tiles. All data was recorded.
Coefficient of Friction Accepted Industry Standards
As per the ANSI A326.3 Standard, Coefficient Of Friction (COF) is measured in the following form:
Dynamic COF (DCOF): force applied when moving.
Why Floors Need to Be Above 0.42
The Tile Council Of North America (TCNA) announced the formal approval of specific and measurable walkway safety criteria…
The New Code For Slip-Resistant Walkway Surfaces Includes:
- A required wet Dynamic Coefficient Of Friction (DCOF) value of no less than 0.42 for level walkway surfaces intended to be walked upon when wet, as determined in accordance with the current ANSI A326.3 standardized test method.**
- A floor surface treated with Sure Step is actually safer wet, than when dry.
** Tile Council of North America, Inc.
SureStep-treated floors consistently test above the ANSI 0.42 DCOF threshold — the industry standard for safe wet walkway surfaces — on both porcelain and ceramic tile.
